Plant molecular biology is the study of how plants function at the molecular level like structures, processes, and behaviors that the information stored in the genome expresses. The rapid advancement of molecular biology has made it feasible for plants to be resistant to disease and insects. Studying plant systems can help us understand how to address problems in agriculture, human health, and the environment. Bioinformatics tools allow us to analyze the vast amount of data being generated by genome sequencing projects and are further helpful in improving crop yield and nutrition quality. The conference emphasizes the recent advances in multidisciplinary research on many topics including plant genome databases, analysis of genome sequences, gene prediction, gene structure, gene expression, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), and analysis of large-scale proteomics data on crop improvement. The hands-on training on plant RNAseq data analysis will be provided using the Bioinformatics tool.
